What Home does

The things WhatsApp shouldn't.

Most agencies communicate with families through a mix of phone calls, text messages, WhatsApp groups, and the occasional email. Each is a data-protection problem. Each is also a missed opportunity to keep families part of the care.

Visit updates

Each delivered visit produces a family-readable summary: who came, what they did, how the client was. Direct from the carer's note, with the clinical jargon translated.

Weekly wellbeing

A plain-English wellbeing summary every Sunday evening. Pulse-derived, but written for a daughter, not a clinician. The first thing many families read with a cup of tea.

Photos · with consent

Carers can attach a photo to a visit. Every photo is gated on a per-recipient consent flag. The family sees what they're permitted to see — never anything else.

Two-way messaging

Family can message the manager or coordinator — never directly the carer. Messages are retained, audited, GDPR-compliant. Every reply is on a clinically supervised record.

Care plan visibility

Family can see the current active care plan (read-only). They can suggest changes through the plan-review workflow — which the manager then accepts, modifies, or declines, with reasons.

Visit schedule

Next 7 days at a glance — who's coming, when, and what for. Changes are notified live. The "did anyone come today?" question becomes a swipe.

Trend charts

The same wellbeing, sleep, mood, and activity trends the manager sees — but at a longer horizon and with simpler axes. Useful before GP appointments.

Family surveys

Quarterly NPS and themed surveys delivered through Home, with thank-you replies from the manager. CQC's "Caring" evidence, gathered humanely.

Joined-up reviews

Care plan reviews scheduled in Helm appear in Home as calendar invites. Family input is captured before the review, surfaced to the manager during it, recorded after.

A daughter on the LPA isn't a neighbour with key-safe access. The manager chooses what each Home recipient sees — at the field level — and every consent boundary is auditable.

Every permission can be toggled per Home recipient. Every toggle change is logged with actor, timestamp, and reason. Clients can revoke any family member's access at any time, and Home enforces revocation immediately — including on already-downloaded photos.
